The Canterbury Horse Rescue Adoption plan is a great way to introduce your friends and family into the world of horses and their welfare. It's also an enormous help to us in looking after our horses & ponies.

You can choose from a tiny Shetland pony Dandy through to 17.1 hh Gertrude (Gert to her friends). We will provide you with a certificate and a regular update. You can even arrange to visit your adopted friend thoughout the year or at one of our open days.

So who do you choose? Well, the best way to decide is to read each of the biographies and click on who you like the best, complete the application form and send it to us, its as simple as that.

Why don't you buy your family a special Birthday or Christmas present, you never know, it might be the start of a very special association with CHR.  To get a form and adopt one of the centre's residents  please go to the form button on the home page.

Billy

Billy -    14.3  Cob

Who's a pretty boy then, with my good looks I have all the girls wanting to make a fuss of me and I am very friendly, adopt me and you will see what I mean. Now I will introduce the rest of my friends here at Canterbury Horse Rescue starting with "She Who must be Obeyed"

PandoraPandora -     Donkey

I am "She who must be Obeyed". Everyone gets up in the morning when I wake them by braying, I tell them when they are going out, when it's time to come in and when it's tea time. If I escape from my paddock which I have done in the past everyone falls about laughing as they never usually see me move that fast

                                                                            Michael     14.3 Welsh Section  D

Mikey     My name is Michael, but  the residents here call me MR VAIN. I am 17 years old and like every teenager I know what I like to do. I am a driving pony, I do not pull little traps I like big Carriages then I can strut my stuff. I know I am a show off but I cannot help it, as the saying goes

IF YOU'VE GOT IT FLAUNT IT

JackJack -   12.2 hds Welsh Section B

Hi  I'm  Jack and I am a very pretty pony who loves all the attention. I would let you groom me all day if I could, well you would have to be there all day, if you see me come in from the field. What can I say  "Mud Glorious Mud"

WesleyWesley         13.2 hds       Cob

I should never have been born a pony I should have been a dog!!!!    I love being fussed over and I even dribble at mealtimes. I might be only 13.2 hands high but I personally think I am a Shire in disguise

DandyDandy,        7 hands        Shetland Pony

I am known as the TINA TURNER of the yard, I have looks to die for, my mane and forelock are my best points , my waistline has slipped a bit over the years and I am on a constant diet. I usually spend my days keeping Jack amused in the field or keeping the children occupied when they are here

Gretel

Gretal - Cob X

I am the tallest here and usually the most laid back, children and adults alike cannot get over my size. I enjoy company and will tolerate alot but its the silly things that frighten me, like rabbits running in front of me or squirrels going up and down trees not knowing where they are going.

                                       AkaddinAladdin  is my name

I am a 13.2 hand grey pony and like most grey ponies if they see dirt or mud they want to roll in it, he has never been known to stay clean. He suits his name, Aladdin because how he gets out of his paddock every now and then is just pure genius, he must have a little genie somewhere

Jaffa

Jaffa who is a 14.2 Irish cob, when he was younger he was a naughty boy as he used to put people in their place but as he has got older he has proved that he is quite a softy and quite intelligent to say the least. He loves to show off and is good at dressage when he puts his mind to it.

My name is Thelma , I might be last but I am the one who has a very important job to do round here. As you can see |I drive , I just love to see everyone and be taken out to places. I am wanted, which makes me feel good and I am also a good representative for the Charity
