Canterbury Horse Rescue

Canterbury Horse Rescue is situated in Otterden, nr Faversham; set amidst beautiful, unspoilt Kent Countryside, it boasts 10 acres of pasture with 19 stables and associated facilities to cater for the individual needs of every horse,mule, pony or donkey that comes into our care.

With the help of our extensive network of field officers, every rescued animal takes on a new purposeful role, according to its assessed abilities; they may spend their days helping our NVQ students gain valuble knowledge in the importance of equine care and welfare, or just happily grazing until their rehabilitation into a new home.

The Centre is supported entirely by income generated from "Friends of Canterbury Horse Rescue", NVQ training, annual subscriptions and a variety of Fund Raising events.

The centre is open Monday to Friday 1pm - 3pm throughout the year. Admission is free.

We hold regular fund raising events i.e. Inhand, Ridden and Show Jumping Shows for all abilities throughout the summer as well as tack sales to generate much needed funds for the centre so please check our shows link regularly to see when our next event will take place. Each event is informal and are good experience for young and old as well as being lots of fun!

There are many ways that you can help, all of which we are grateful for your support:

Become a friend of Canterbury Horse Rescue for the next twelve months for an annual fee of £15

Adopt a horse, pony or donkey and become an annual friend of Canterbury Horse Rescue for twelve months for ONLY £50

Alternatively any donations of hay, straw, horse feed, apples and carrots in any quantity are always gratefully received by our residents.

If you have any tack or rugs etc that you no longer use which is taking up valuble space, we can always use it here at the centre.

All annual friends will receive newsletters about upcoming events and activities.
